The “Callan Method” was developed in 1959 from the English-teacher Robin Callan. The course is traditionally divided into 12 stages, or “levels of learning”, which were published for the first time with the release of 12 books (one per level) in 1960. One year later Robin Callan founded the first Callan-school in Salerno, southern Italy.
In 1997 London, England could count 70 classes and more than 3200 students following the Callan method.
